πŸ‘ Reasons to Buy

  • Lightweight for its capacity.
  • Made from recycled polyester yet highly durable.
  • The harness system makes this thing super comfortable to carry as it is ergonomically shaped and has a customizable hip belt.
  • Lots of attachment points for your outdoor gears and the compression straps can double as fixing straps for huge things such as snowboards and the likes.

πŸ€” Things to Consider

  • Some reviewers aren't fans of the bag's closure system.
  • The water bottle pocket is missing.
  • Could use some more organization.

πŸ’¬ Reviewers Have Said

  • "Purchased for a commercial. Used as a prop, it was beautiful and perfect for our use. I feel certain it would be great on the trail as well."
  • "I found this pack to be just what I was looking for. It's lightweight but more durable than the ultralight hiking bag I had been using for small climbing days. There's just a few small things that are weird. It's nice that there is an extendable collar for extra bulky gear, etc, but this pack is way larger than 35L!"
  • "Great pack for its intended use. Carries weight surprisingly well and is nice to climb with. It is well built but light and overstuffs quite a bit. "

Patagonia Ascensionist 35 Pack
blisterreview.com

"I’ve been using the 35 L version for most of my alpine missions in the Alps since February, and I can say that this pack is excellent. However, I do have one big qualification: This is a highly-specialized pack made for fast and light alpine mountaineering. It is not a backpacking pack or a cragging pack or skiing pack. It can do those things, but it is definitely a mountaineering pack first."

Field Tested: Patagonia Ascensionist 35 Review
www.thealpinestart.com

"The 35L is just the right size for day excursions, and I think will handle multi-day outings just as easily. Though there are a couple of niggles — the top pocket and the tool handle attachment — this is a solid pack for the money ($179 Cdn MSRP). It is very comfortable, carries well and is easy to get into: I can live with the top pocket, and an extra dollar or two will you buy two velcro tool holders"

Gear Review: Patagonia Ascensionist 35L
www.reachyoursummit.net

"I've been growing very fond of this pack. It can be a great option for weekenders or gram conscious backpackers who are dialed in with specific gear. Though I haven't used it in the winter yet, I look forward to taking it out on a overnight or ski specific trip, when the opportunity allows."

Patagonia Ascensionist review: an ultralight, minimalist backpack for day hikes, alpine ascents, and weekend trips in the wilds

"The Patagonia Ascensionist is a frill-free but intelligently designed pack that’s low on weight, high on comfort, and ideal for fast-and-light adventures"

Patagonia Ascensionist 35L Review
gearinstitute.com

"As pure a climbing pack as I’ve ever tested, the Patagonia Ascensionist 35L earns the Best in Class award for this season and sets a new bar for alpine backpack performance. The Ascensionist is easily the most versatile pack in this season’s tests. "
