Our verdict

Reasons to buy

  • Has multiple storage areas that would really organize all your belongings.
  • Truly comfortable to wear even on humid days since the back panel allows good ventilation.
  • Has lots of attachment loops for your outdoor gears.
  • Well-thought pockets throughout the entire bag that will keep your things organized during travels.
  • The hip fins are really functional as they have pockets and helps with the load management.

Things to consider

  • The steel frame can be uncomfortable for some users.
  • Can be quite expensive.

What reviewers said

  • "The backpack is a great size! As a minimalist packer, I can use it for day trips, but also for longer holidays/tours. There are plenty of ways to put things on the outside, for example, to buckle a tent below. The bottle compartments on the outside are quite flexible in size. In addition, it is very convenient that you can open the backpack completely from above! Would definitely buy it again."

The Abisko Friluft is hardwearing – the main body of the pack is Fjallraven’s own G-1000 Eco material, made from recycled polyester and organic cotton – but it’s also lightweight, and with its specially designed back panel it’s ideal for hiking in warm, summery conditions. The design features an aluminium frame and mesh material which let air circulate freely, reducing sweating significantly.
Fjallraven Abisko Friluft 35 litre backpack review: a weekend-ready winner

Great looks and good performance in the outdoors – Fjallraven’s Abisko Friluft 35 litre pack ticked all the boxes on test, and makes a great pick for casual adventures and weekend travels. Stand-out features include roomy pockets, good breathability and the option to re-waterproof the pack on the go – we wouldn’t expect any less from this ever-popular Swedish brand.
