I've had the pleasure of testing out two popular carry on backpacks: the Greenroom136 Rainmaker and the Deuter Giga. Both of these bags are reliable for travelers. However, there are distinctions to be made which make each of them unique within their class. Let's peel back the layers and dive into the specifics of each exemplary piece of travel gear.

The Greenroom136 Rainmaker stands tall at 40 inches, crunching the numbers out to be a bit larger than the Deuter Giga which comes in at 18 inches. It's a touch heavier too, tipping the scales at 1.7 pounds against Giga's lighter 0.98 pounds. You'll find that it's built with a top-notch 1000D Cordura fabric which exudes durability. The main compartment can comfortably fit a 15-inch laptop, whereas the Giga's slot is roomy enough for a 17 incher — a difference worth considering for digital nomads. In terms of capacity, it offers 22 liters of packing space. This is a bit shy of Giga's 28 liters. Despite this, it's compatible with all airlines while the Giga falls a little short, being accepted by only 82% of airlines.

One of the numerous reviewers of the Greenroom136 Rainmaker put it best, "Overall, it’s a solid pack that values function above all else. And all of the customizability options are incredible." This sentiment is echoed in another testimonial, highlighting its value for money, "Overall, the Rainmaker by Greenroom136 is the complete package at an amazing price for anyone looking for a handmade EDC pack that can carry your laptop and Ipad without worry."

Meanwhile, the Deuter Giga isn't without its own merits. It's lauded for the Airstripes System, ensuring good back ventilation without compromising fit and comfort, even on rough rides. Also, it's comfortable to wear for extended periods of time and offers a decent and functional organization throughout the entire bag. Choosing between the two really boils down to your personal needs and preferences. Whether you need a waterproof exterior or a more breathable back, both options are a win in my book.
